About Patty Cakes
Founder and Owner, Pat Jacoby
Pat Jacoby, owner of Patty-Cakes in Highland, IL is an award-winning cake designer with over 35 years of experience. Pat opened her cake studio in May of 1981 and has been designing cakes ever since. Her skill in the design of cakes, stems from a lifetime interest in art and the love of creating something "different".
In addition to teaching cake decorating for years, Pat demonstrates new skills and techniques to her fellow sugar artists at seminars, cake club meetings, and ICES Day Of Sharing. She is also a frequent demonstrator at ICES (International Cake Exploration Society) conventions.
In December 2008, Pat flew to ComCast Studios in Denver, CO to participate with a friend in the Food Network Challenge "Disney Classics Cakes". They took second place in that competition. Click here to view the cake.
In December 2008 Leah, Pat's daughter, started her cake decorating career after graduating from culinary school. Leah has grown up at the shop, giving her a head start in the business.
